Who We Are
Delmarva Review welcomes the best new writing, in English, from all writers, regardless of borders.
Why Are We Called Delmarva Review?
While our authors and readers hail from across the world, the peninsula’s name “Delmarva” derives from the three states that share it—Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. We are published from St. Michaels, Maryland, in Talbot County, on the Delmarva Peninsula. The region is known as an enchanting delta of wide-open spaces and coastal wetlands cradled between the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. It is the largest estuary in the United States, one rich in history and steeped in waterman lore shaped by its unique ecology.
Since 2008, our purpose continues to focus on selecting and publishing the best new writing of the year from thousands of submissions. Delmarva Review is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit literary journal published by Delmarva Review Literary Fund, Inc. We do not charge writers’ submissions or reading fees. We welcome all and are deeply grateful for the financial support we receive from individual tax-deductible contributions, sales, and a public grant from Talbot Arts with funds from the Maryland State Arts Council.
