Who We Are
From our 2008 inception, Delmarva Review has grown from its regional roots to a national literary journal that draws writers from across the U.S. and around the world.
Historically, Delmarva Review was published by the Eastern Shore Writers Association and governed by both ESWA’s board and Delmarva Review’s editorial board. In 2017, Delmarva Review’s editorial board established itself as an independent entity governed by Delmarva Review Literary Fund, a 501(c)(3).
Why Are We Called Delmarva Review?
Our home base, the Delmarva Peninsula, an enchanting delta of wide open spaces and coastal wetlands cradled between the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean, has a rich history steeped in waterman lore and shaped by its unique ecology. The peninsula’s name derives from the three states that share it—Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia—but our authors, artists, and readers hail from across the world.
